New Facebook Live Feature: Go Live from Your Computer with Streaming Software

Facebook spent the entire month releasing one update after the other that has kept any Facebook ads management agency on its toes. By the end of this month, Facebook will have released downloadable Instagram live videos, Facebook Stories, Collections, message Reactions and Mentions, fake-news warning labels, Instagram Stories ads, new communication features for pages, and the Facebook TV app.

Amid this madness, Facebook adds two other updates to its already lengthy list: a live video feature that allows you to use streaming software and to broadcast live videos from your computer.

Facebook Live used to be only available to mobile apps. However, Facebook is rolling out Facebook Live to desktops and laptops.

With the stability of a computer camera, you can finally say goodbye to shaky live videos taken from your phone. This new capability is particularly beneficial to professionals and vloggers who long for better live video quality.

You can begin your live video from your computer by clicking “Live Video” above your news feed or timeline.

Go Live with Streaming Software

Facebook also added an update to live videos that allows you to seamlessly switch cameras, use professional equipment, share screens and include text, overlays, and graphics during your live broadcast. Additionally, you can broadcast live videos to Facebook groups and event pages.

This feature, which is rolling out to all users, is particularly helpful to video game vloggers, who can stream their PC games to friends and followers.
